Etymology:

The specific epithet, taschi, is a patronymic honoring Paul Tasch (1910-2001), who studied the conchostracan (Merriam, 2002) and insect faunas of the Wellington Formation in the late 1950’s and early 1960’s, and who collected the type specimen of Chiastogryllus.
